Job Description
Our second assistant will assist in the daily planning, supervision and execution of all maintenance activities. Additionally, the employee will assist in the application of fertilizer and pesticide products and the maintenance of the irrigation system. The candidate must have or acquire a state issued Pesticide license.
Requirements 2-year degree in turfgrass related field, or have made substantial progress toward same. 2 years/seasons of work- related experience; previous experience as a 2nd Assistant Superintendent or in some supervisory role a plus. The candidate should desire to pursue a career in golf course management, do thorough work and be very organized. Strong oral and written communicative skills are a must. Individual should be highly motivated, have an eye for detail and willing to lead by example; Spanish speaking a plus. The Oaks Golf Course:
Equipment Manager
Education: Minimum High School Diploma, Technical training a plus
Experience: Previous work experience or technical training in a related field such as automotive, agricultural, or small engine repair and service is required
Job responsibilities: -Preventative maintenance and repair of gas and diesel engines - Use electrical and hydraulic schematic drawings to make proper repairs -Keep accurate records of equipment repairs and costs -Repair equipment failures in an accurate, timely, and cost effective manner -Train coworkers on proper use of equipment and all safety standards required to operate equipment -Maintain clean and safe working environment daily -Perform golf course maintenance tasks when required -Assignment of daily golf course maintenance tasks and supervise maintenance department staff when required -Assist in the up keep of maintenance building, clubhouse, and cart buildings
